Fantastic week at Mousses Villas and Apartments

We recently spent a fantastic week with my wife our friends and all 4 of our children on the wonderful Island of Lefkas in Greece. The holiday brief we all had in mind on was for the grown-up’s to have some well-deserved rest and the children to have action-packed few hours each day at the Kids club, followed by family time in the afternoons. Well, what a great choice we made to stay at Mousses Villas and Apartments in Lefkas!

The 3 hour flight from Heathrow Terminal 5 at the very sensible time of 9am was a real bonus. It meant the children could get their regular sleep and we could start the holiday relaxed. Once we arrived at Preveza airport were immediately met by Natasha the manager of the children’s club and crèche who instantly made the children feel very welcome and had lots to tell them all about the activities they would soon be enjoying.  We collected our cars and made the short journey to Mousses, admiring the beautiful Island of Lekfas on the way.

We were greeted at Mousses by their very friendly staff who showed us to our semi-detached, two storey, two bedroom villas (even the Nanny’s from the kids club & crèche came to say hello to the children which was very nice indeed. We requested to be next door to ur friends and were placed in villas 1 & 2 which were situated furthest away from the pool but benefitted by being surrounded by lush gardens for the children to run around and play football, cricket and Frisbee. These villas were in the perfect location for us as the pool was still only a 30 second walk, yet far enough to be able to escape from too. The kids were excited to see their bedroom especially our youngest daughter Olivia was over the moon with a pink duvet cover!

We could tell immediately that a great deal of thought had gone into the re-development of Mousses which includes new bathrooms and kitchens and particularly child friendly aspects such as 2 stair gates, a bottle steriliser for young babies, a high chair, a cot if required and a bed guard so the children did not roll out during the night. There were plastic cups, bowels and cutlery meaning we could comfortably eat on the terrace without having to worry about things being knocked over and broken. The living room was equipped with a DVD player, a full library of films was available on request to keep the children happy whilst we got ready for dinner. We were left a generous welcome pack which included milk, cheese, bread, crisps, wine, beer, tea, biscuits, pasta, fruit and all the ingredients to make a few Greek salads. Everything is brand new from the cutlery to the ovens and toaster – it really is very impressive

As soon as we arrived the Children wanted to go straight to the very large pool that is situated in the centre of the villas.  Here they enjoyed hours of fun during the week and made great friends with all the other children meaning we could really relax whilst watching them safely interact and improve their swimming, jumping and splashing skills! There was a bar by the pool serving tea, coffee, beers, spirits, wines and more importantly ice-creams for after lunch! The younger children loved the shallow pool which had a sail over it to protect them from the mid-day sun.1

The second morning the kids Club started and all 4 children went off to experience all the brand new toys, games and trikes. The fully qualified nannies are excellent and very interactive with the children. There is enough to keep the children entertained and the outside play area is great whilst the children enjoy fresh air whilst playing skittles and football.

1 We opted for our children to be looked after from 0930 – 1300 each morning with one day which is swapped from a morning session to an evening session so that the adults could go out for a meal in Lefkas Town (6 min taxi drive) without the children. Absolute Bliss and the kids had as much fun as we did watching movies and eating popcorn!

One night a week there is a fantastic BBQ that that all guests stayed to enjoy. There was so much food from fresh fish, salads, potatoes, sausages, burgers and a selection of souvlaki’s. The children ate together on a small child size table whilst the adults were able to mingle with the other guests.1

Overall the holiday was a complete success and families of all ages would enjoy the amazing hospitality at Mousses.
