Peace and relaxation at East Winds Inn, St Lucia

Our peaceful & relaxing week at East Winds Inn, St Lucia

 EW2

Our 35 years in the travel industry have taken us to some incredibly fantastic parts of the world, however this was our very first trip to the beautiful island of St Lucia and as it happens, it was well worth the wait!

From landing into Hewanorra Airport and taking the 90 minute private transfer up to the north of the island to where East Winds is located, we were treated to our very own island tour as we rose up over the mountain roads and dipped down through quaint fishing villages and saw unspoilt parts of this stunning island.

EWI Pitons

On arrival we were personally greeted by the hotel’s general manager who had recently taken up his position and who we found to be extremely charming. After a very welcome glass of Champagne, we were shown to our cottage, painted a beautiful pistachio green to compliment the surrounding lush, tropical gardens. The Deluxe cottages are elegantly finished and have a very traditional Caribbean feel, they are spacious and fitted with all modern amenities, with a well-stocked fridge on the private terrace, perfect for an early morning coffee or a refreshing beer in the late afternoon.

Each and every member of the East Winds team were so genuinely friendly and offered impeccable service, that we found we relaxed immediately. We spent our days reading by the pool, lazing on the soft sand beach or taking a dip in the crystal clear ocean. A private speedboat tour down to see the magnificent Pitons was also a highlight of our stay and a real treat!

Dining was an extravaganza and every evening began in the Bamboo Lounge with Champagne & canapés providing a great opportunity to meet and mingle with other guests. Dinner was a mouth-watering four courses and the choice every evening was simply fantastic. Every Friday the hotel hosts a beach BBQ where the chefs prepare all meats and fish to your specification and the beach side setting of the restaurant is just wonderful.  The choice for breakfast and lunch is also endless and we truly were spoilt for choice.

Chefs & BBQ

With just 30 cottages spaciously set within 12 acres of beautiful gardens, this small luxury, boutique hotel offers a timeless elegance and truly traditional Caribbean escape. The hotel has received numerous awards in its long history on the island and this is testament to why so many guests return year on year….we hope to do so too one day!

Hope you’ve enjoyed the read!
